I bought this gorgeous skein of Madelinetosh lace over the summer... the Mansfield Park Garden Party colorway.... makes me want crumpets, a cup of tea, some quiet time, and a copy of Mansfield Park

Quiet time is rare these days, so I have "settled" for the Citron Shawl a free pattern from Knitty.com. The pattern is interesting because of the ruffles, but it is a lot of stockinette stitch, A LOT.
Did I mention that I love this yarn? Especially the orange... I love the orange. I do wish I had better circular needles. I am not picky, but it would be nice to have some with the no-memory cords. I am thinking about trying the nickle plated Knit Picks... thoughts?
This is very pretty knitting!! I too love your yarn, this shawl will go with so very much, nice choice! I don't think I could pick a favorite color, I love the whole look.

DeleteGreat yarn, indeed! I knit Citron last year, I think, and it makes a pretty shawl, but I found the knitting of it pretty boring. So, good thing you like the yarn! :)
ReplyDeleteRe: needles, I have the knitpicks nickle, and I'm trying to decide what to upgrade to. I mean, the points are nice and pointy, the joins are pretty smooth and the cables are nice and flexible (I don't love that the interchangeables don't go down to 16"). The cables sometimes pull out of their seating, and if it happens right away, they replaced them for me. But if it happens later, you'll be buying more. Also be aware, since they're plated? That plating wears off. For me, in ~3 years.
Thank you so much for the info on the knit picks. My needles get very well used so I would like some that will hold up for years to come. Please keep me updated on what needles you pick and how you like them... I am not in a hurry and would like to get some that will serve me well!
DeleteOh my goodness, I'm in love with that yarn! I seriously want to use that last picture as my screen saver! :-) That was seriously a great impulse buy and warrants another one in the near future. ;-)
